I would like to introduce you to a new song by Evangel Lapore called He’s Alive Not a Lie. You can listen and download the song for free using the link below.
“Yesterday I took a good jog in my neighborhood, thoroughly enjoying the spring weather and new green landscape ahead of me. Here in Nashville, Easter corresponds with the beginning of Spring and it is always such a great reminder of the new life that comes as result of what we celebrate during this holiday – the truth that God came to earth as a man in Jesus, lived a life without sin, died a death that he did not deserve, and in doing so, fulfilled the law and became the perfect sacrifice for our sin, as well, he even became our sin and endured the wrath of God on our behalf so that we could be rescued and redeemed, brought to life, so ultimately that He would be glorified and exalted.
Even as I walked off my porch, I saw the budding hydrangea just outside our door that a week before, and actually since November, had just been twigs poking out of the ground. There are now leaves growing on those twigs that will soon turn into incredibly colorful, beautiful, blooming flowers. That simple moment caused me to be amazed at the story of God! What an amazing picture of the gospel. Just as plants that were dead come to life when the spring comes, He is constantly giving new life, and has been, all through eternity. The dead are brought to life!
As it says in Ephesians Chapter 2 –
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
He has made us alive! What a life-changing truth! We, who were once dead, can be given life through Christ and his sacrifice. Don’t miss that truth this Easter. In addition to being reminded of the truth, please don’t keep it to yourself. Don’t forget what it was like to not know that truth, and the slavery your souls were in, dead in your transgressions. Let that memory of who we once were compel us to go and share the news of Christ to all we can. Let us, in gratitude, share the truth of God to a world that so desperately needs to hear of the life that comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ! – (by Dave Hunt)
